About us
NLDaily is an independent English-language news and information publication covering the Netherlands. We write about Dutch politics, the economy, expat life, climate, technology and European affairs for the international community living in or moving to the Netherlands. Everything we publish is free to read.
The Netherlands is home to more than one million expats and international residents. Most of them speak English fluently. Many have lived here for years, pay taxes here, raise families here, and care deeply about what is happening in the country they call home.
Yet English-language coverage of the Netherlands has always been limited. The Dutch press is excellent but publishes primarily in Dutch. The handful of English-language sites that exist tend to focus on surface-level expat lifestyle content rather than serious reporting on the issues that actually affect people’s lives here.
NLDaily was built to fill that gap. We cover the Netherlands the way a serious publication should, with depth, accuracy and genuine usefulness for people who live here and want to understand it.
NLDaily is based in the Netherlands. Our writing is informed by the experience of living and working here, navigating the same systems, dealing with the same bureaucracy and caring about the same issues as our readers.
We believe good journalism does not have to be behind a paywall. NLDaily is free to read and will remain so. We are supported by advertising and will never allow commercial relationships to influence our editorial coverage.
We want to hear from you. Tips, story ideas, corrections or just a hello.
